Job summary

Cypress Creek Energy is seeking an onsite operations representative to lead a field technician team for preventative and corrective maintenance on utility-scale solar PV and storage sites. The role ensures safety, compliance, and reliable uptime while coordinating with EPC management and vendors.

The ideal candidate will have NABCEP certification, 3+ years in PV maintenance, and strong knowledge of SCADA, DAS, UPS, and NEC standards. Travel and on-call work are required.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing a diverse team.
  • NABCEP Certified Installation Professional.
  • 3+ years of hands-on utility-scale PV maintenance.
  • Experience with PV DC ops, AC MV systems, monitoring.
  • Experience operating SCADA, DAS and UPS.
  • Proficient with testing gear: thermography, IV curves, meggers, GF detectors.
  • Read electrical single-line and three-line diagrams.
  • Knowledge of NEC and standard design/construction practices.
  • Valid driver’s license; OSHA 30 and NFPA 70E training.
  • Willingness to travel and be on-call/off-shift.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of solar PV and storage sites across the region.
  • Lead field service technicians and contractors for preventive and corrective tasks.
  • Maintain safety protocols and regulatory documentation.
  • Oversee spare parts, budgets, vendor coordination, and logistics.
  • Develop and rollout O&M best practices and training programs.
  • Partner with operations to maximize plant performance.
  • Manage subcontractors; identify and remove hazards.

Overview

CCE is seeking a highly motivated candidate with utility solar experience to serve as the onsite operations representative during new site construction and manage a team of field technicians to perform preventative and corrective maintenance activities after substantial completion. The ideal applicant will possess the ability to learn quickly in a constantly changing environment, works well on a team, is highly organized and articulate, and can effectively communicate complex problems and recommended solutions. This role will be responsible for leading site technicians, managing day-to-day performance, and ensuring safety, compliance, and reliability across the site.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with CCE EPC Management, the contracted EPC firm, and other CCE personnel to safely and successfully bring the new site to substantial completion
  • Manage daily operations of assigned solar PV and storage sites across the region, ensuring optimal performance and uptime
  • Lead and develop a team of field service technicians and contractors to execute preventative and corrective maintenance tasks
  • Maintain operational documentation, safety protocols, and compliance records in line with regulatory requirements and company standards
  • Oversee spare parts inventory, site budgets, vendor coordination, and local logistics
  • Participate in the development and rollout of O&M best practices and training programs
  • Partner with operations team to maximize plant performance
  • Manage subcontractors and external vendorsIdentify safety hazards and take appropriate action to remove or eliminate hazards
Education & Experience Required
  • Experience with management of a diverse team
  • NABCEP Certified Installation Professional
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with utility-scale PV maintenance, including PV DC operations, AC medium voltage systems, network communications and monitoring
  • Experience with operation of SCADA, DAS and UPS systems
  • Skilled in the use of testing equipment and tools such as Thermographic Electrical Inspection, IV Curve Tracing, Meggers, Ground Fault Detection
  • Experience in all aspects of PV maintenance, including DC systems, AC medium voltage systems, and network communications and monitoring
  • Diagnostic capabilities to troubleshoot and correct problems found
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code and standard design/construction practices
  • Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite
  • Ability to take direction and complete tasks with minimal oversight
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • OSHA 30 HR Training
  • NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in workplace
  • Must have the ability to travel, work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Work is to be performed in the field and in the office
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures. PPE personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; hard hat, arc flash protection, safety glasses, hearing protection)
  • Must have the ability to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk for 8-10 hours a day
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
Location

The position will be based remotely on site in Valera, Texas.
