Railserve is seeking an experienced Locomotive Mechanic to support regional locomotive maintenance across the Bedford Park, IL area. This hands-on role involves scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and field repairs to ensure reliable operations for customers.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical experience, electrical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in outdoor industrial environments.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Associate degree or technical training preferred.
• Strong mechanical experience required.
• Electrical troubleshooting experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to operate cutting torch and welding equipment.
• Ability to work independently and safely in industrial environments.
• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions; able to lift and handle heavy equipment.

Aufgaben

• Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on locomotives.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical locomotive issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, invoices, shipping documents, and expense reports.
• Communicate maintenance updates with customers and operations teams.
• Safely operate service truck and cutting/welding equipment; follow safety procedures.
• Conduct periodic safety inspections and environmental/materials handling.
