Job summary

AstraZeneca is seeking a Renal Regional Liaison Director to lead a Field Medical Affairs team and execute medical plans that align with our cardiovascular and renal care strategies. You will guide MSL activity to deliver impactful clinical outcomes and collaborate with internal stakeholders to advance patient care.

The role requires a Doctorate in a related field and 3+ years in pharma Medical Affairs with leadership experience, plus strong communication, strategic and launch capabilities.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Bio-Sciences, Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Nursing, Medicine, PA/NP or equivalent degree or experience.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry preferably leading Field Medical Affairs teams or as member of a Field Medical Affairs team with strong leadership capabilities preferably in the Health System space.
• Experience in product launch development and execution.
• Experience with product strategy development and execution.
• Experience working in an account base setting partnering with Payer Medical, Commercial Account Directors, and other internal matrix partners.
• Demonstrated expertise in drug information communication.
• Enthusiasm for coaching to and contributing to Advancing Patient Care in Health System Accounts.
• Strong entrepreneurial spirit
• Thorough knowledge of FDA requirements
• Basic knowledge/understanding of health economic principles and clinical trials
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Ability to travel > 50%

As the Renal Regional Liaison Director (RLD), you'll be at the forefront of executing Medical Affairs strategies that align with our business objectives. You'll lead and manage a dynamic Field Medical Affairs team, driving innovation and collaboration to support therapeutic area and brand medical plans. Your leadership will ensure that our Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team delivers impactful clinical outcomes that advance patient care.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

• Previous management experience in Medical Affairs or Clinical Development

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $211,111 to $316,666.Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (i.e., vacation, holiday, and leaves), as well as health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
