Job summary

CRB in Emeryville, CA, is seeking a Regional Lead Estimator to drive conceptual and schematic cost estimates for complex engineering, construction, and integrated delivery projects across life sciences, food & beverage, and commercial sectors.

You will lead cross‑functional teams, coordinate with project managers and clients, present cost models, and mentor junior estimators to raise estimating standards regionally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• 10–15 years of multi-discipline estimating experience, preferably in life sciences, food & beverage, industrial, or commercial sectors.
• Strong understanding of design-build and integrated project delivery methods.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in estimating software (WinEst, Sage Estimating, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of conceptual and schematic cost estimates for engineering, construction, and integrated delivery projects.
• Utilize historical data, quantity take-offs, unit pricing, and systems/line count methodologies.
• Present cost models and estimates to internal teams and clients, ensuring transparency and trust.
• Collaborate with project managers, design teams, and clients to align estimates with project scope and financial targets.
• Manage and coordinate trade or discipline estimators to produce detailed estimates including labor, materials, and other cost components.
• Conduct risk analyses from both CRB and client perspectives.
• Maintain and update historical cost data and benchmarking tools.
• Support the conversion of opportunities into active projects during the pre-construction phase.
• Mentor junior estimators and contribute to the development of estimating standards and tools within the region.

Job Description

The Regional Lead Estimator will play a critical role in supporting pre-construction and project development efforts across CRB’s core markets. This client-facing position is responsible for developing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates during the conceptual and schematic design phases, ensuring alignment with project goals and budgets. • Willingness to travel regionally as needed.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with construction logistics planning, schedule development, and constructability reviews.
• Familiarity with CRB’s core markets and project types.
• Leadership experience in mentoring and managing estimating teams.
