Job summary

Fresh Thyme Market is seeking a Regional HR Manager to plan, administer and coordinate all HR activities across Chicago and surrounding markets, including Minneapolis, Milwaukee, and St. Louis.

Travel 30-50% is required as you partner with store and regional leadership to maximize performance. You will lead employee relations, compensation, benefits, performance management, training, and safety programs while shaping workforce strategy, succession planning, and engagement initiatives across

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years HR experience in a corporate retail setting.
  • Experience with case management (dispute mediation, corrective action, terminations).
  • Knowledge of employment law and privacy considerations.
  • Grocery/retail HR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with field operations on employee relations issues.
  • Manage compensation, benefits and performance management systems.
  • Lead training programs and safety initiatives.
  • Provide guidance on leadership development, engagement and succession planning.

This position is a business partner with store and regional leadership to ensure that the assigned stores sustain an environment where each team can maximize their individual and team performance. Leads and implements proactive, effective and consistent delivery of Human Resource solutions, programs and services and maintain functions such as employee relations, performance management, personnel policies, and regulatory compliance. This includes active partnership and collaboration to build strong store teams, identify gaps and present solutions, implementation, and assessment of human resource activity. Additionally, the role investigates team member concerns and seeks to resolve employee relations issues or violations while addressing root-cause issues.Regional HR Manager will support Chicago and surrounding markets including Minneapolis, Milwaukee, and St. Louis. Travel to these markets is required. Frequency 30-50%.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsible to work with field operations teams for all employee relations issuesPartner with the administration of compensation, benefits and performance management systems, departmental training and safety programs.Conducts needs assessments, training, the facilitation of small and large groups in meetings and workshops, and partners in the resolution of employee relations issues.Provides consultation, direction and recommendations to leadership regarding employee relations activities, dispute resolution procedures, corrective actions, terminations and EEOC matters affecting employment.Provides interpretation of company policies and procedures covering the areas of employee relations, compensation, benefits administration and workers’ compensation.Trains leadership on best practices regarding employee and labor relations.Collaborate with HR team on the development of effective performance management including performance appraisals, giving and receiving feedback, competency development and assessments.Lead a variety of engagement activities and processes both corporately and regionally applied, such as round tables, orientation, on-boarding, culture surveys, etc.Supports talent management strategies through engagement with and monitoring of team members in pivotal or rotational roles.Facilitates career paths, succession planning and workforce planning discussions.Coaches Store Directors, ASDs and Managers on how to maximize performance.Manage stores staffing to meet business needs.Analyze training needs to support the design employee development, language training and health and safety programs.Use company engagement survey data to develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices.Develop and/or administer special projects in areas such as training programs and employee awards.Other duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceRequires a B.S./B.A. degree in a business or related field or equivalent work experienceMust have a minimum of 5 years professional experience5-7 years of HR specific experience in a corporate retail setting, multi-unit a plusPrevious case management experience (to include corrective action processes, termination, conflict mediation, etc.)Preferred grocery retail experienceKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAdvanced knowledge of human resource policies and practices in a professional retail environmentAbility to handle highly sensitive information with absolute confidentiality and professionalismGeneral knowledge of employment law and practicesAbility to adapt to the ever-changing retail environment while working in a cross-functional team environment.Strong decision quality and effective communication.Must have advanced attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.Excellent written communication and documentation skills.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn HR systems applications.Strong time management.Must be able to lead, support and contribute to team goals.At Fresh Thyme, our team members Thrive. The actual rate offered will meet or surpass the legal wage requirement for the job's location.$88,000.00 - $136,500.00This pay range represents the minimum and maximum base pay for the position, which is determined by factors such as market data, the qualifications required, the level of responsibilities associated with the role and other roles at this same level. Specific pay rates will be within this range and based on your experience, qualifications, and skills compared to the internal team of this role.Compensation for this position also includes incentive bonus opportunities that may vary based on individual and company performance.
