Sanctuary Group is seeking an experienced Regional Health and Safety Business Advisor to support housing and care operations regionally. You will conduct health and safety inspections at care homes, supported living schemes, and housing sites, and work with managers to provide guidance and practical support.

You will collaborate with the health and safety training team to deliver training, review incident reports, create risk assessments, and develop safe systems of work.

Formación

• NEBOSH certificate or equivalent Health and Safety qualification is essential.
• Experience in housing or social care health and safety is required.
• Able to deliver specialist H&S training and identify training needs.

Responsabilidades

• Undertake Health and Safety inspections at care homes, supported living schemes and housing sites.
• Provide guidance and support to managers and staff on health and safety matters.
• Deliver health and safety training with the training team.
• Review accident/incident reports and assist with investigations.
• Create and support risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Liaise with the Senior Health and Safety Advisor on progress of compliance actions.
• Maintain relationships with stakeholders and contribute to H&S documentation.
• Report RIDDOR incidents to the HSE and promote H&S representation.
• Drive on company business; hold a full UK driving licence.

The role of Regional Health and Safety Business Advisor will include:

• Undertaking Health and Safety Inspections at Care Homes, Supported Living Schemes, Student and Housing sites within the region
• Working collaboratively with business managers and staff to provide guidance, advice and support where required
• Working with the Health and Safety training team to ensure appropriate training and learning is delivered to the business areas
• Reviewing and monitoring accident incident reports and assisting with site investigations where required
• Creating and supporting risk assessments, safe systems of work and processes
• Liaising with the Senior Health and Safety Advisor on the progress of compliance actions, work streams, projects, risks and related issues
• Maintaining good relationships with key stakeholders across the business areas
• Supporting and assisting with the development of Health and Safety documentation e.g., policies and procedures help and forum development
• Reporting RIDDOR incidents to the HSE (reporting of injuries, diseases, and dangerous occurrences regulations)
• Promoting and supporting the role of Health and Safety Representatives, Co-coordinators, and Forums to ensure that all Sanctuary's subsidiaries and business operations have adequate health and safety representation
• Ensuring that an effective H&S management and support network exists, including monitoring emails and attending regional meetings
• We have an opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our busy team. You will need previous housing, or care experience to be successful in the role. • Previous extensive and significant experience of undertaking a similar role in Housing and/or the Social Care Sector is Essential
• Experience of undertaking audits, inspections, and investigations
• NEBOSH certificate or equivalent Health and Safety qualification is essential
• Good interpersonal and customer care skills
• Working knowledge of identifying training needs and experience in delivering specialist H&S training
• Ability to support staff development in health and safety
• Confident using Microsoft packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Teams)
• This role will involve driving on company business. To drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

• £43,325 per annum (rising to £45,605 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
