Job summary

Thrive Mesquite is seeking a Regional GP Veterinarian to provide comprehensive care across our Dallas East area hospitals. The role offers full-time or part-time options, regional travel within a defined area, and the security of a structured team with robust benefits.

Applicants should hold a DVM/VMD, possess a valid State license in good standing, and have surgical and dental experience. DEA licensure is required or eligible. This position emphasizes mentorship and client relationships.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree required.
• State Veterinary Board license in good standing for the hiring state.
• Active DEA license or eligibility.
• Minimum of 3 years GP experience or internship plus 1 year GP experience.
• Surgical and dental experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care including wellness, emergency, and surgical services.
• Build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and support staff.
• Maintain accurate medical records and clear communication.
• Support and mentor newer veterinarians when needed.

Experience & Skills Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree required.
• State Veterinary Board License and must be in good standing for the state in which they intend to be hired, prior to their start date.
• Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligible.
• Minimum of 3 years of general practice (GP) experience OR successful completion of an internship plus at least 1 year of GP experience.
• Surgical and dental experience required.

Work Schedule & Travel

• Full-time: Minimum of 12 shifts per 4 weeks (10-hour shifts).
• Part-time: Minimum of 4 shifts per 4 weeks.
• Travel within a designated region.
• Shifts scheduled 90+ days in advance through our online platform.

Compensation

• Competitive shift rate + quarterly production bonuses based on service, products, and OTC sales - 10-hour shifts.
