A Day in the Life
We are seeking a committed professional to join our team. This remote position requires the candidate to reside within the territory and drive to multiple accounts throughout the region. A valid driver’s license is essential for this role.
Responsibilities
- Implement and execute the strategy and implementation plan for educational programs for new and tenured sales representatives and clinical specialists to drive electrophysiology (EP) product procedures across the CAS portfolio of cardiac ablation products.
- Play a key role in executing the training and education strategy for the US sales team as the business enters multiple new market segments and expands the cardiac ablation portfolio with advanced technologies.
- Serve as lead for regional customer and employee education and training activities in support of CAS procedure and product launches.
- Partner with key leadership, sales field and cross‑functional personnel to identify opportunities for and barriers to improving regional performance.
- Act as the customer and field technical resource in CAS, providing expertise and leadership in physician and field education, AHP education, clinical evidence interpretation, and Medtronic employee education.
- Provide feedback to product development, internal training and education, and marketing on content development to improve future offerings.
- Drive regional education and training activities.
- Train internal teams and external customers on CAS procedures, therapies/products, processes, and solutions.
- Conduct continued education and assessment of the tenured field team.
- Lead coordination of new‑hire training with accountability to the hiring manager.
- Ensure new hire sign‑off and deliver new product and procedural field training, ensuring all required technical and clinical evidence is delivered effectively.
- Execute engaging field sales and clinical specialist education programs that are targeted, purposeful, and support electrophysiology knowledge and skills.
- Understand competitive technology and therapies and craft a message illustrating Medtronic’s competitive advantage.
- Disseminate competitive information to regional teams.
- Deliver competitive technical and clinical training to sales teams in collaboration with sales leaders and marketing.
- Enhance relationships with current and future stakeholders by delivering strategic and innovative education to promote Medtronic products and therapies, focusing on clinical value.
- Collaborate to roll out new product training initiatives, including indications, troubleshooting, safety updates, and “Train the Trainer”.
- Translate complex technical messaging, dispel competitive claims, resolve complex technical issues, and maintain customer relationships through expertise.
- Interpret and communicate product and procedure updates and field corrective actions related to Medtronic products and therapies.
- Collaborate with clinical research organizations and clinical studies to support physician research.
- Commit to personal continued development in electrophysiology and adult learning modalities.
- Partner with sales leadership to develop and execute strategic technical and clinical training that meets business goals.
- Leverage personal region‑wide relationships to anticipate changes in business conditions.
- Respond to urgent or rapidly changing business needs and partner with sales teams to implement strategic solutions.
- Build and strengthen relationships across Medtronic to support collaborative solutions that leverage unique sales and clinical teams.
- Build high‑trust relationships based on technical expertise and clinical evidence with key customers across the region.
- Provide expert service at key accounts to establish and reinforce the value of Medtronic technical competency.
Must Have Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus at least 2 years of experience in electrophysiology or sales/service/engineering in the Cardiac Ablation, Cardiac Rhythm, or Implantable Medical Device Industry;
- OR Advanced Degree in Engineering or Nursing.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in marketing new technologies and therapies.
- Degree in biomedical engineering or nursing.
- Cath Lab, EP Lab, hospital/clinic, or cardiology experience.
- Experience teaching and educating medical personnel, peers, and technical support personnel.
- Thorough working knowledge of cardiac medical terminology and the medical device industry.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with peers and colleagues across organization levels.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate and participate in numerous tasks/projects in a fast‑paced environment, meeting deadlines.
- Strong work ethic in accomplishing objectives.
- Expertise with Microsoft tools and other business applications, including Salesforce.
- Ability to meet vendor credentialing requirements.
- IBHRE/RCES certification preferred at senior and principal levels.
- Knowledge of project/program management practices desired for senior and principal levels.
Additional Job Requirements
- Frequent required travel to customer sites, hospitals, and off‑site meetings; independent mobility required.
- Travel with overnight stay up to 50‑75% of the time (geography variable).
- Ability to work outside the typical Monday‑Friday 8:00 am‑5:00 pm schedule.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance; driving record will be reviewed.
- Frequent verbal and written communication required.
- Frequent handling of equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 lb.
- Sitting, standing, and walking for up to eight hours per day.
- Exposure to infectious disease, radiation, MRI, and blood/bodily fluids.
- Ability to wear a 5‑7 lb lead apron for extended periods.
- Manipulation of objects, tools, and controls frequently required.
- Frequent bending or stooping to manage inventory.
- Vision requirements include close, distance, depth perception and focus adjustment.
Physical Job Requirements
- Independent mobility required.
- Interaction with a computer, and communication with peers and coworkers.
- Ability to stand or walk continuously for up to 8 hours.
