Job summary

Plus One, an Optum Company, seeks a Regional Exercise Specialist to support fitness centers across the Boston region. This role requires travel to multiple locations with travel reimbursement. You will conduct consultations, develop progressive programs, and ensure safe, effective use of equipment.

Educate participants on health information, complete internal courses, and deliver outstanding service to members. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification and CPR/AED/First Aid are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology or related field, or a NCCA-accredited personal training certification.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
• Knowledge of exercise testing (assessments) and exercise prescription (program design).
• Ability to network, engage and interact with all clients.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Traveling is required; travel reimbursement per policy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing fitness consultations including movement screens, needs analyses and goal setting to recommend fitness programming.
• Develop progressive fitness programming to support and motivate participants.
• Instruct participants on safe and effective use of cardio, flexibility and strength equipment.
• Educate participants on clinically proven health and fitness information and available programs.
• Complete internal development courses via LMS.
• Maintain a positive customer and client experience through exceptional service.

Job Overview

We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Regional Exercise Specialist who is passionate about supporting healthy lifestyle habits to work at multiple high-profile company's fitness centers located in the Boston, MA region. Traveling is required for this role. Travel reimbursement available in accordance to company's policy.

What you will do

• Conduct ongoing fitness consultations for participants, including movement screens, needs analyses and goal setting, in order to recommend appropriate fitness programming and complementary wellness services.
• Develop comprehensive progressive fitness programming to support and motivate participants and ensure a positive overall experience.
• Monitor, engage and instruct participants in the fitness center on the safe and effective use of cardiovascular, flexibility and strength training equipment within the facility.
• Educate participants on clinically proven health and fitness information, available fitness and engagement programming and complementary wellness services.
• Complete internal development courses through a learning management platform.
• Maintain a positive customer and client experience by delivering exceptional service.

What we are looking for

• A bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology or a related field, or a NCCA-accredited personal training certification.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
• Industry knowledge in exercise testing (assessments) and exercise prescription (program design), and ability to operate various fitness tools and equipment.
• Ability to network, engage and interact with all clients, guests and members.
• Competence with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Traveling is required for this role. Travel reimbursement available in accordance to company's policy.
