Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is seeking a Regional Equipment Engineering Manager for our Austin, TX area. The role leads mechanical, electrical, software, and production engineers to deliver complex equipment from concept through production release.

The position requires 10+ years of engineering leadership experience, strong project management, and expertise in FMEA and system validation. Hybrid work with three days in the office and domestic/international travel (~20–25%) are expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience, preferably with industrial equipment or complex automated systems.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams across regions.
  • Experience taking equipment or engineered systems from concept through production.
  • Strong understanding of equipment design, electrical systems, controls/software, and manufacturing integration.
  • Experience supporting equipment installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and sustaining engineering.
  • Strong project management, resource planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with FMEA, root-cause analysis, process validation, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience working with suppliers and manufacturing teams on complex equipment.
  • Experience in oil/gas, chemicals, pharma, wastewater, industrial gas, biotech equipment, food & beverage.

Responsabilités

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams of mechanical/equipment, electrical, software, and production engineers.
  • Oversee development of complex equipment from concept through production release.
  • Provide technical direction for equipment design, installation, integration, troubleshooting, and sustaining engineering.
  • Manage engineering resources, project schedules, budgets, and workloads across programs.
  • Partner with manufacturing and operations to resolve equipment design and production issues.
  • Support transition of new equipment from engineering into manufacturing and field deployment.
  • Lead problem-solving, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, FMEAs, and equipment validations.
  • Establish engineering standards and metrics for equipment development and readiness.
  • Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve technical issues and improve performance.
  • Drive improvements in equipment design, reliability, cost, manufacturability, and system performance.
  • Ensure activities meet safety, quality, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Travel willingness for domestic and international assignments (~20-25%).
  • Operate in a hybrid environment with three days in the office.

Regional Equipment Engineering Manager

Role:
A global chemical manufacturing organization is seeking a Regional Equipment Engineering Manager to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams responsible for the development, integration, installation, and ongoing support of complex industrial equipment and systems.

This position provides technical leadership across equipment engineering, electrical, software, and production engineering functions. The role will report to a Global Director and oversee new equipment development as well as sustaining engineering activities supporting manufacturing operations and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams of mechanical/equipment, electrical, software, and production engineers.
  • Oversee the development of complex equipment and systems from concept and feasibility through design, prototype, testing, qualification, and production release.
  • Provide technical direction for equipment design, installation, integration, troubleshooting, and sustaining engineering.
  • Manage engineering resources, project schedules, budgets, and workload across multiple equipment-development programs.
  • Partner with manufacturing and operations teams to resolve equipment design, build, installation, and production issues.
  • Support the transition of new equipment and systems from engineering into manufacturing and field deployment.
  • Lead technical problem-solving, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, FMEAs, and equipment/process validations.
  • Establish engineering standards and metrics related to equipment development, quality, reliability, and production readiness.
  • Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve technical issues and improve equipment performance.
  • Drive improvements in equipment design, reliability, cost, manufacturability, and overall system performance.
  • Ensure equipment engineering activities meet applicable safety, quality, customer, and regulatory requirements.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience, preferably involving industrial equipment or complex automated systems.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams across different regions.
  • Experience taking equipment or engineered systems from concept through prototype, testing, qualification, and production.
  • Strong understanding of equipment design, electrical systems, controls/software, and manufacturing integration.
  • Experience supporting equipment installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and sustaining engineering preferred.
  • Strong project management, resource planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with FMEA, root-cause analysis, process validation, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience working with suppliers and manufacturing teams on complex equipment.
  • Experience within oil and gas, chemicals, pharmaceutical, waste water, industrial gas, biotech equipment, food and beverage processing, etc.

Travel:

Willingness to travel is required, it will be both domestic and at times international ~ 20-25%

Working Situation:

This is a hybrid working situation with three days in the office.
