Job summary

Liquid Environmental Solutions seeks a Regional Environmental Compliance Manager to oversee regulatory compliance and permitting across our wastewater treatment facilities. You will partner with Plant Managers, Operations, and Corporate EHS to ensure consistent execution of the environmental program.

The role serves as the primary environmental resource for assigned facilities, leading audits, inspections, corrective actions, and training to foster a proactive compliance culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or related technical discipline (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible environmental compliance experience in industrial wastewater, manufacturing, chemical processing, or other regulated environments.
• Experience supporting environmental compliance across multiple facilities or geographic regions.
• Demonstrated experience conducting environmental compliance audits and supporting regulatory inspections.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations (industrial pretreatment, wastewater permitting, SPCC, stormwater).
• Experience developing and implementing corrective actions, root cause analyses, and resolving compliance issues.
• Strong technical writing skills with regulatory correspondence, compliance reports, and audit documentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with operations and executive leadership.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to travel approximately 50%, including overnight travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary environmental compliance leader for an assigned region, partnering with Plant Managers and Operations to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide technical guidance and practical solutions to facility leadership, promoting proactive environmental compliance culture.
• Conduct routine environmental compliance audits to evaluate permits, practices, records, labs, and policies.
• Lead facility preparation for regulatory inspections and coordinate responses to requests and follow-up actions.
• Investigate compliance issues, permit exceedances, NOVs, and regulatory findings; perform root cause analyses and corrective actions.
• Deliver environmental compliance training and coach site personnel on requirements and Playbook implementation.
• Support environmental permitting activities, permit renewals, and regulatory reporting.
• Build collaborative relationships across Operations, Engineering, Laboratory Services, Safety, and Legal.
• Communicate regularly with Director of Environmental Compliance on performance and risk.
• Travel 50% to facilities to provide hands-on leadership and strengthen partnerships.
