The successful candidate will be responsible for pursuing new work opportunities within the region, sponsoring projects in execution within the region, and effectively leading and growing the design engineering team. They will beexpected to have a firm understanding of the regional team’s technical capabilities, the needs of major localclients, competitors and key partners, and available talent pool from local competitors and universities. Thecandidate should have or quickly develop relationships with multiple targeted clients within the region and initiatecontact with other potential, secondary clients that could be leveraged in the future.
This role requires engaging both new and existing clients to solidify strong relationships and best position theirteam to build a stable and growing backlog. The candidate should have experience in project sorting to determineif a project should be bid or not bid based on an effective evaluation of the impactful variables. They should haveexperience mentoring new and experienced team members through their challenges and helping them meet individual career goals. This role requires an in-depth understanding of project and business line financialsincluding reporting and presenting these results to senior leadership. They will help build and execute short-termand long-term regional market strategies to set the best course supporting the Power business line.
Kiewit's Power Engineering Group brings various project types to life across North America, including gas-fired generation, power delivery, environmental retrofits, renewables and new technology, and water/wastewater. Our staff leads the power markets engineering process and collaborates with Kiewit's construction teams to focus on safe, cost-effective and innovative designs that achieve client expectations and further Kiewit's legacy of excellence.
This position will be based out of our office in Raleigh, NC with opportunity for hybrid flexibility. The ability to travel at least 20% to client and project locations within the region is expected, along with travel outside the region as necessary.
