With oversight of approximately 232 FTEs, this leader will ensure high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care while advancing the organization’s broader clinical and operational goals.
  • The role encompasses a diverse regional procedural environment across multiple locations, including Skagit Valley Hospital, a Level III Trauma Center with six operating rooms; Cascade Valley Hospital, a Level IV Trauma Center with three operating rooms; and Mount Vernon Surgery Center, featuring four operating rooms, three endoscopy suites, and one dedicated procedure room. The Regional Director will provide strategic and operational leadership across these surgical and procedural services, overseeing seven direct reports responsible for operating room, perioperative services, sterile processing, endoscopy, business operations, and surgical services across the regional campuses.
  • The Director will help shape the future of surgical services across the region, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, expand capabilities, strengthen service lines, and optimize resources. This leader will balance the needs of individual departments and locations while developing strategies that support consistent standards and organizational priorities.

The Director will work with leaders and teams who bring different experiences, perspectives, and organizational cultures, requiring an adaptable leader who can communicate effectively, build trust, and create alignment.
  • The Director will partner closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, clinical leaders, finance, and other organizational stakeholders to support excellent patient outcomes and a strong procedural experience. This includes evaluating equipment and capital needs, managing operating and capital budgets, monitoring performance metrics, and identifying opportunities to improve productivity, throughput, quality, and cost effectiveness.
  • The Director will mentor and develop surgical leaders, strengthening leadership capabilities, accountability, staffing practices, professional development, and outcomes-based performance. This leader will also foster employee engagement and a positive work environment while navigating labor relations and supporting a collaborative culture across the regional team.
  • This leader will ensure surgical practices align with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards while partnering with physicians and operational leaders to advance patient satisfaction, workplace safety, clinical quality, and overall performance.
  • The ideal candidate will be an accomplished surgical services leader who can operate comfortably at both the strategic and operational levels and understands the complexities of leading across a regional healthcare environment. Experience spanning both hospital-based surgical services and an ambulatory surgery center would be particularly valuable. This leader will bring strong relationship-building skills, financial acumen, adaptability, and the ability to unite diverse teams around a shared vision for continued growth and excellence.
