Responsibilities

This position requires an experienced behavioral health professional with extensive experience in admissions within an acute inpatient psychiatric facility who will report to the VP of Admissions Services for the Behavioral Health Division of UHS.

The UHS Clinical Services Department is hiring a Regional Director - Intake Services whose responsibilities consist of providing support to the Intake departments of the Behavioral Health facilities through performing analysis of the operations of the Intake departments and offering feedback and direction for improving systems in order to allow the Intake departments to operate successfully.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support CEO's in recruitment, hiring, training, development, and oversight of Intake Directors
  • On site observation and monitoring of Intake department productivity and performance to ensure effective and efficient systems for patient access to care
  • Monitoring of Intake key indicators and trends related to calls, assessments, admissions, triage, deflections, and productivity. (Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Reports, Corporate database)
  • Provide trainings to Intake departments related to Call Management, EMTALA, HIPAA, data entry systems, regulatory compliance, and intake best practices
  • Monitor Intake policies and procedures for accuracy and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • When invited, attend monthly Operations calls led by facility VP, to assist with the development of strategies for improvement in key indicators and Intake Department operations
  • Collaborate with other corporate departments (Clinical, Risk, Business Development, Finance) as needed to provide direction and support to facility Intake operations. Participate in multidisciplinary Corporate initiatives by attending scheduled meetings and serving as a representative of Intake Services
  • Documentation and distribution of agenda prior to each site. Communicate verbally and in writing to Intake Directors, CEO’s, Operations VP’s, and other corporate employees regarding Intake observations and directives for operational improvement in Intake through action plans including specific goals and time-frames
  • Identify and share Intake best practices with corporate colleagues and Intake departments across the division. Develop trainings and competencies for the division related to Intake best practices. Add content to the Intake SharePoint site
Qualifications

Master's degree with a minimum of 5-8 years' experience in an acute inpatient psychiatric facility.

  • Knowledge of behavioral health EMTALA and HIPAA requirements, TJC standards for intake and admissions, and electronic data entry systems preferred
  • This position requires extensive national travel to various UHS Behavioral Health Hospitals and Programs throughout the United States. Candidates must be open to 80% travel, and must be located within close proximity of a major U.S. airport
