Job summary

DataBank seeks a Regional Director Data Centers to oversee efficient operations across multiple data centers in a defined geographic area. You will manage DCMs and DCTs, monitor KPIs, and ensure security and reliability of critical infrastructure.

The role requires onsite leadership, strong communication, and a track record in data center operations, with a focus on policy adherence and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferred or equivalent experience.
• Experience leading managers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong understanding of all data center components including HVAC, UPS, servers.
• Data Center background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be onsite during core business hours.
• Manage multiple Data Center Managers and Lead Data Center Technicians.
• Track KPIs of Operations teams and responses.
• Ensure facility infrastructure and security monitoring systems are operational.
• Escalate system, process or administrative issues across departments.
• Maintain PM schedules and SOC/SSAE-18 certifications/compliances.
• Ensure policies and procedures are followed across all sites.
• Plan staffing and budgeting to maintain data center operations.
• Build strong relationships with customers and clients.
• Drive improvements in efficiency, cost, and reliability.

Regional Director Data Centers will be responsible for efficient operations and all other aspects of several data centers within a specified geographic area.

Responsibilities

• Required to be onsite during core business hours
• Management of multiple Data Center Managers (DCMs) or Lead Data Center Technicians (DCTs) with responsibilities for the operations and maintenance of facilities, installations and client demands in multiple Data Centers
• Tracking of key metrics and KPI’s of Operations teams tasks and responses
• Assurance that all key facility infrastructure and security monitoring systems are operational
• Escalation of any system, process or administrative issues across various/all departments within the organization
• Track Preventative Maintenance schedules ensuring equipment remains in proper working condition and Databank meets its commitments to maintain our various Data Center certifications/compliances (SOC, SSAE-18 etc.)
• Ensure Policies and Procedures are met and consistent amongst all DCMs as well as all sites
• Ensure safety rules and procedures are followed. Ensure that Company property is in safe and operational condition to achieve the best working conditions possible for all employees
• Ensure security rules and procedures are followed
• Plan and implement a continual work schedule to maintain staffing levels of data centers
• Oversee contractor’s performance and skills are in line with producing the desired outcome. To ensure that all DCMs inspect outside contractor/ vendors work upon completion and ensures that standards of workmanship and safety are maintained
• Track and resolve all ‘exceptions’ found during PM activities. And report back to the respective departmental groups of work being completed and forward all paperwork to the appropriate individuals for record keeping
• Build and maintain a strong relationship with customers/clients
• Provide focus on plans to improve production efficiency and/or achieve cost reduction on Capex/Opex, PUE, End of Life equipment, system enhancements, etc
• Manages/evaluates PUE at the facility via the BMS system to ensure facility is operating efficiently
• Ensures training of all DCTs to understand the functionality of the BMS system so they can react accordingly to any unexpected issue at the site
