Job summary

Iowa State University is seeking a Regional Director for Region 11 in Extension and Outreach. The role leads county Extension councils, supervises staff, oversees program delivery, and coordinates with program specialists to address regional needs.

The Regional Director will travel across Benton, Jones, and Cedar counties, partnering with community leaders and managing fiscal and HR tasks while expanding outreach to underserved communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
• Experience with financial resource development, budgets, and contracts is preferred.
• Experience with networking, staff and volunteer supervision, and policy development is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to county Extension councils to meet legal obligations and to carry out Extension District roles.
• Supervise county staff as detailed in a Memorandum of Understanding between the council and the University.
• Oversee program delivery that meets the programmatic needs of the region.
• Initiate strategies for Extension council fiscal management, grants and contracts, HR and program needs assessment.
• Develop and oversee volunteer networks and reach under-served audiences while ensuring civil rights compliance.
