Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regional committees.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop regional initiatives across Biocom's five pillars.
  • Coordinate regional events and programming, including planning, scheduling, content development, and targeted outreach.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications on campaigns promoting events, funding initiatives, member benefits, and regional successes.
  • Assist in developing presentations, briefing materials, and communications for meetings and conferences.

Job description

The position of the Regional Development Manager will be responsible for developing and driving strategic initiatives by cultivating partnerships with key stakeholders, research institutions, and industry leaders in the greater Los Angeles region.

The Regional Development Manager identifies emerging opportunities, builds relationships both internally and externally, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop and execute programs across Biocom’s 5 Pillars.

Success in this role requires a strong understanding of how the needs of life science organizations can be fulfilled by public policy, funding & partnering, cost savings, networking and workforce development initiatives. They must possess exceptional business development, communication, and relationship management skills to expand Biocom’s influence, and support long‑term organizational growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Regional Market Development & Strategic Partnerships

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans and programs to expand Biocom's presence across the Greater Los Angeles life sciences ecosystem.

QUALIFICATIONS

Incumbents must demonstrate the ability to follow policies and procedures as established in the Company’s Employee Handbook. Incumbents will also contribute to a positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a manner such that they get along with all constituent groups, co‑workers, and management.

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Business or Marketing preferred;
WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum five (5) or more years of marketing or market development experience.
  • Minimum three (3) or more years of life science focused and SoCal based experience.
KEY SKILLS SET
  • Exceptional organizational, resource-management, and problem-solving skills; able to prioritize and manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously on time and budget
  • Ability to network with key stakeholder in the region and develop meaningful working relationships
  • Keen attention to detail in proof-reading, list building, marketing and social media posts, and other items
  • Demonstrated ability to show initiative and to be proactive, self‑motivated, innovative and an independent thinker to identify process improvements; proactively implement solutions, and generally participate in ideation in a dynamic environment
  • Team‑player with a strong work ethic and commitment to internal and external customer satisfaction
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must exhibit a high level of discretion and confidentiality
  • Must be able to work in a hybrid environment, with generally 3 days per week in the Los Angeles office
EQUIPMENT AND APPLICATIONS
  • High proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce (or similar CRM platform), Pardot, Canva, and common social media channels (Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)

The anticipated base salary for this position will start at $115,000 and will include a 10% target bonus opportunity. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education etc. Biocom is a multi-state and multi-regional employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states and regions.
