Overview

The Regional Dean and Assistant DIO reports to the Interim Dean at Morehouse School of Medicine. They will have a matrixed relationship to the Chief Medical Officer for the CommonSpirit Bakersfield market and work with the Chief Administrative Officer of the More in Common Alliance. The Regional Dean will lead the establishment of an MSM campus in partnership with Bakersfield Memorial and Bakersfield Mercy Dignity hospitals delivering the six core rotations required by LCME. In the Assistant DIO role, they will manage the ACGME-accredited programs.

Working closely with program directors and hospital leadership, the role is responsible for fostering a high-performing graduate medical education (GME) community. Core responsibilities include maintaining institutional and program ACGME accreditation, supporting and developing residency program directors, overseeing resident well-being, managing GME operations, and the development of new residency programs.
