Job summary

Irby Construction Company, a Quanta Services company, seeks a Regional Controller for its steel division based in Quinlan, TX. Lead all accounting operations, including job cost, billing, and monthly reporting, while coaching a staff and coordinating with operations and corporate finance.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years in accounting, a Bachelor's in a related field, CPA preferred, and strong GAAP knowledge with project-based costing experience. This on-site role requires travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive accounting experience.
• Prior experience supervising accounting staff.
• CPA license or active candidacy preferred.
• Experience in construction/utility/power industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and job costing methods.
• Proficiency with ERP/financial systems (JD Edwards/Oracle, Hyperion, EcoSys).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations for the steel division including job cost accounting, billing, and monthly financial reporting.
• Supervise and develop a team of project accountants and staff; participate in hiring and performance reviews.
• Act as liaison between steel division operations and corporate finance.
• Oversee job set-up, budget loading, and change orders for projects.
• Review WIP schedules and cost-to-complete projections with project managers.
