Job summary

Midway Mechanical Services in Vancouver, WA is seeking a Regional Controller to lead accounting across the Intermountain West. You will partner with operations leadership, drive growth initiatives, and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.

This high-visibility role reports to senior finance leadership and oversees month-end close, budgets, forecasts, and audits, while mentoring regional staff and improving internal controls. Occasional travel required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
• 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 2–3+ years of leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and construction accounting.
• Experience creating/managing WIP reports and job cost accounting (required).
• ERP system experience (NetSuite or similar preferred).
• Background in construction, HVAC, mechanical contracting, or service-based industries (required).
• Hands-on leader comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to travel occasionally throughout the Intermountain West.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes across regional entities.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
• Monitor KPIs, job costing, WIP schedules, and variance analysis.
• Ensure GAAP compliance, including percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
• Oversee and mentor regional accounting staff.
• Partner with operations leaders to drive profitability and financial discipline.
• Support annual audits and compliance requirements.
• Implement process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
