Job summary

Sherwin-Williams in Ohio is seeking a Regional Continuous Improvement Leader to drive regional OPEX, lead a portfolio of strategic initiatives, and deliver sustained business results through Lean Six Sigma. You will coach site leadership and belts, collaborate with regional finance, and grow regional talent while managing project execution and ensuring durable improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in statistics, mathematics, engineering, chemistry or equivalent field.
  • 5 years continuous improvement or manufacturing/engineering/quality/technical experience.
  • Experience with Sherwin-Williams Continuous Improvement System (Design, Re Design, and Process Improvement).
  • Demonstrated organizational leadership and influence.
  • Ability to apply industrial statistics and convey concepts at multiple levels.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; broad CI tool knowledge.

  • Coach site leadership and CI leaders on deployment of Lean Six Sigma tools.
  • Identify and develop regional talent to drive a CI culture.
  • Guide regional Black Belts, Green Belts and Champions in leadership and certifications.
  • Facilitate validation of performance/financial results and sustainability of projects.
  • Facilitate monthly calls to track progress and status updates.

Standard Work Program Support and Execution
  • Propose and meet regional standard work goals.
  • Coach site leadership on effective execution of Standard Work requirements
  • Certify site compliance to Standard Work program and audit sites for compliance to certifications already achieved.
  • Train site teams on all aspects of Standard Work (Takt, SOP, Kaizen and 5S)
  • Promote a Kaizen Culture throughout the region
  • Lead and participate in Kaizen events at sites; conduct Kaizen training (including General Kaizen, SMED, Visual Factory, FMEA, 5S, etc).
Travel Requirement: Up to 30%

Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
  • Bachelor degree in statistics, mathematics, engineering, chemistry or equivalent field
  • 5 years continuous improvement or manufacturing/engineering/quality/technical experience.
  • Throughout career has experience in the following:
  • The Sherwin-Williams Continuous Improvement System (Design, Re Design, and Process Improvement)
  • Demonstrated organizational leadership and influence.
  • Ability to apply industrial statistics.
  • Capability to convey technical & operational concepts multiple levels within organization.
  • Demonstrated communication and presentation skills to multiple levels within organization levels.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of continuous improvement tool set
Preferred:
  • Advanced Technical Degree or MBA.
  • Experience working in Polymer and Packaging Region or other reactive chemistry experience
  • Experience working with a PSM facility
  • Previous management experience
  • Experience working with EMEAI sites
