The Corporate & Community Engagement team serves as Augusta University's bridge between campus and community, fostering collaborations that drive innovation, workforce development, and regional growth.

By cultivating partnerships with industry, government, and nonprofits, the department advances research, supports entrepreneurship, and strengthens economic vitality across Georgia. Its mission is to connect the university's expertise and resources with community needs, creating opportunities that benefit students, partners, and the state's economy.

Our team includes Corporate Engagement, Economic & Workforce Development, Community Engagement, Continuing Education, and Regional Community Relations.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Regional Community Relations, the Regional Community Relations Manager Leads Augusta University's community engagement efforts across North Georgia, connecting communities to University expertise and resources. Helps to amplify Augusta University's impact, its institutional priorities and its brand in North Georgia.

Responsibilities
COMMUNITY RELATIONS
  • Build partnerships with civic leaders, chambers, and development authorities.
  • Support regional programs, events, and outreach initiatives.
  • Represent Augusta University at regional meetings and forums.
  • Identify opportunities aligned with regional workforce and healthcare priorities.
COORDINATE AND IMPLEMENT REGIONAL EVENTS
  • Plan, develop, and execute signature events, regional programs, and engagement initiatives that advance Augusta University's regional community relations strategy.
  • Design and deliver high-impact community-facing events including forums, roundtables, receptions, campus-to-community activations, and regional convenings.
  • Collaborate with regional staff, government relations, academic units, corporate and community engagement teams, and external partners to ensure events align with institutional priorities and brand standards.
  • Organize event logistics, budgeting, timelines, vendor coordination, and on-site execution to ensure professional, consistent delivery across regions.
  • Leverage events and programs to strengthen relationships with civic leaders, chambers of commerce, economic development authorities, and visitor bureaus.
  • Evaluate event outcomes and participation data to assess impact and inform continuous improvement.
AMPLIFY AUGUSTA UNIVERSITYS IMPACT IN NORTH GEORGIA
  • Coordinate with MCG Northwest Campus, MCG Communications and Area Health Education Center to understand story opportunities.
  • Collaborate with communications, marketing, alumni relations, government relations, corporate relations, and philanthropy and philanthropy teams to ensure consistent messaging.
  • Elevate awareness of Augusta University's contributions to regional economies and communities.
ASSESSMENT

  • Report engagement outcomes to leadership.
OTHER
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related field with five years of experience in community relations, public affairs, or external engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.

Experience within a public research university or similarly complex organization.

Familiarity with Georgia's civic and economic development landscape.

Shift / Salary / Benefits

Shift: Days/M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)

Pay Band: B13

Salary: Minimum $68,500/annual - Midpoint: $87,300/annual

Salary to be commensurate with the qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum midpoint) of the position.
