Responsibilities

The Revenue Cycle Area Lead is a key player in maintaining the financial health of our organization. This role oversees and optimizes the revenue cycle process within a defined geography, ensuring accurate and timely billing and collection of accounts receivable. In this role, you will lead and mentor a team of revenue cycle professionals, drive process improvements, and collaborate with center and market leadership to achieve revenue goals.

  1. Analyze and improve revenue cycle processes from patient pre-admission to discharge to optimize the entire revenue cycle.
  2. Develop a deep understanding of revenue cycle management financial performance metrics, including bad debt reserve, bad debt expense, cash collections %, AR >60, and DSO.
  3. Proactively identify and resolve challenges that hinder timely collection of accounts receivable.
  4. Develop and implement actionable plans to address revenue cycle issues and improve overall performance.
  5. Supervise and mentor a team of revenue cycle management professionals.

Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  2. Five+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, with a focus on long-term care or skilled nursing preferred.
  3. Strong knowledge of medical billing and coding regulations, Medicare/Medicaid guidelines, and private insurance practices.
  4. Proven ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and implement process improvements.
  5. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications.
