Job summary

UNFI in Dayville, CT is seeking a Class A Delivery Driver to deliver and unload palletized groceries to corporate and independent retailers. You will perform pre- and post-trip inspections, review paperwork for completeness, and ensure orders match the initial request.

Responsibilities include compliant operation under FMCSA regulations, safe vehicle handling with lift gates, pallet jacks and ramps, reporting accidents, keeping vehicles maintained, handling back hauls and paperwork, and

Qualifications

• Valid medical card and Class A CDL required.
• Pass written exam and road test.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and UNFI safety standards.
• Good judgment is required.

Responsibilities

• Complying with FMCSA regulations
• Delivering and unloading products using equipment (tractor trailer, ramps, lift gates, pallet jacks, load bars)
• Operating vehicle safely within UNFI guidelines
• Reporting any accident immediately to the Transportation Manager/Department
• Keeping vehicles well maintained, safe, and secure; reporting defects using DCVR form
• Picking up supplies and back hauls and completing related paperwork
• Addressing and resolving customer problems as appropriate
• Ensuring orders arrive in quality condition and match the initial order
• Communicating professionally with customers and vendors
