Weee! Inc. in Maryland is seeking a Regional Buyer I to source, plan, and replenish the regional assortment to drive sales and margin.

This role is onsite 5 days a week in Landover, MD, combining market intuition with data analytics to delight customers. You'll own on-the-ground execution, build vendor partnerships, plan inventory and promotions, and collaborate with Warehouse, Customer Service, Marketing, and Operations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of product quality standards and supply chain dynamics.
• Hands-on experience with vendor negotiation and inventory management.
• Strong Excel and procurement-tools skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems and relational databases.
• 1+ years in grocery/perishables buying, category management, or sourcing.

Responsibilities

• Source seasonal and year-round products locally using data and trends to differentiate the assortment.
• Define purchase-order strategies and plan replenishment based on history and forecasts.
• Collaborate with Warehouse, Customer Service, Central Merchandising, Marketing, Operations and Supply Chain to resolve issues.

About the role

The Regional Buyer I sources, plans, and replenishes the regional assortment to drive sales, margin, and customer satisfaction. You'll bring the "art" to the "science": pairing market intuition and negotiation skill with data and analytics to get customers the products they love.

You'll step in quickly, own on-the-ground execution in the region, and can grow into the Regional Merchandising Manager's right hand.

Responsibilities

Sourcing and assortment

• Source seasonal and year-round products locally, using customer preference data and trend forecasts to find standout items that differentiate the assortment.
• Research competitors' assortment, pricing, and promotions to identify gaps and opportunities.
• Build long-term, trust-based vendor partnerships that secure competitive pricing, better terms, consistent quality, and reliable supply.
• Monitor vendor performance at the regional level through scorecards.

Planning and inventory

• Define purchase-order strategies with the Regional Merchandising Manager, aligned to business goals.
• Plan orders and replenishment from sales history and forecasts, weighing inventory levels, logistics lead times, and supply constraints to prevent stockouts and overstock.
• Build a forward-looking promotional and inventory flow plan based on seasonality, vendor supply, and market insights.

Quality and cross-functional collaboration

• Partner with Warehouse on product inspection, quality assurance, and cold-storage standards to reduce spoilage and defects.
• Work with Customer Service, Central Merchandising, Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain to resolve inventory, quality, and customer issues.

Performance and reporting

• Track weekly revenue, margin, product availability, and other KPIs, and turn the insights into continuous improvement.
• Prepare and present reports to senior leadership, such as P&L impact, inventory projections, and vendor scorecards.

Qualifications

1+ years in grocery/perishables buying, category management, or sourcing (wholesale or retail)

Required

• Strong Excel and procurement-tool skills for data analysis and reporting.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Business Analytics, Supply Chain, Marketing, or a related field.
• Experience with Asian grocery categories.
• Experience in a multicultural or bilingual business environment; fluency in Mandarin or Spanish.
• Food Safety Certification.
• Familiarity with internal merchandising tools.

Compensation Range

• The US base salary range for this full-time position is $63,000 - $72,000
• This role may be eligible to discretionary bonus, incentives and benefits
• Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location
