Job summary

Circle K is seeking an experienced operations leader to oversee market competitiveness, budgeting, and staff management across our Tempe locations. The role focuses on pricing analysis, forecasting, and implementing promotional programs to boost sales and margins.

The ideal candidate has a strong track record in convenience store and gasoline retail, with at least a decade in the field and substantial leadership experience. Travel up to 50% and a valid driver's license are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred; other combinations may qualify.
• Ten years in convenience store/gasoline with at least 5 years of management responsibility.
• Experience with MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 50% annually.
• Comfortable public speaker and presenter.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Monitors competitor pricing and market surveys, prepares forecasts.
• Evaluates financial status via cash/over reports, inventories, and expenses.
• Determines marketing strategy changes by reviewing statements and sales activity.
• Improves sales by coordinating with gasoline and marketing to promote programs.
• Maintains stores by inspections; ensures cleanliness and repair; manages inventory.
• Ensures safety; trains staff and communicates safety practices.
• Prepares annual budget, analyzes variances, and initiates corrective actions.
• Recruits, hires, orients, and trains staff; manages performance and development.
• Collaborates with Real Estate for store acquisitions; interacts with governmental agencies as needed.

making adjustments. Evaluates financial status by reviewing cash/over reports, inventory shortages, repair and maintenance expenses,

supply expenses, gasoline and grocery sales, profit margins. Determine marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating and financial

statements; sales activity. Improves sales and profits by consulting with gasoline and marketing departments to develop strategies to

optimize implementation of promotional programs. Maintains stores by conducting inspections to ensure the facility is clean and in good

repair; evaluate inventory levels, merchandising; audits paperwork and reports. Protects employees, customers and company assets by

maintaining a safe and secure work environment; enforcing safety practices; providing safety communications and training. Achieves

financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. Allocates

program costs by preparing operational and risk reports for analyses. Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training

employees. Increases employee’s effectiveness by communicating job expectations; coaching, counseling and disciplining; communicating

values, strategies and objectives; planning, monitoring and appraising job results; fostering a climate conducive for offering information and

opinions; developing personal growth opportunities. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops;

reading professional publications; establishing personal networks; or participating in professional societies. Contributes to team effort by

accomplishing related results as needed. Plans sustaining and investment capital spending by working with Real Estate to evaluate future

store acquisition opportunities. Occasionally engages Governmental agencies on various matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the
• minimum requirements may be substituted.
• Ten years of experience working in the convenience store/gasoline industry or more preferred; including minimum of 5 years
• of management responsibility.
• Experience with MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word preferred.
• May require up to 50% travel annually.
• Comfortable public speaker and presenter
• Valid driver’s license required.
