Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is seeking a Radiologic Technologist specialized in breast imaging to perform mammography/DXA procedures with patient-centered care. You will ensure accurate imaging, maintain privacy, and uphold dignity in every patient encounter.

Responsibilities include QC preparation, assisting Radiologists in interventional breast procedures, documenting QC, and supporting PACS operations while maintaining low repeat rates and high-quality images.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA school of Radiologic Technology.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required.
• Licensed in the state where work is performed.
• Mammogram Certification required within 1 year after orientation/training.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedure to patients and encourage questions; perform Mammography/DXA/Interventional exams.
• Prepare Digital and DXA equipment for QC tests; assist Radiologist in breast procedures; obtain high quality images with proper positioning.
• Accurately document and maintain QC books for all rooms; maintain repeat rate below 4% per room.
• Assist Clinical Engineering and PACS administrators when necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor.

Performs breast imaging services and other women’s imaging services in the Center for Women's Wellness, while respecting patient’s dignity and maintaining privacy. Meets patient's need for accurate information in unhurried, responsive manner. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

Job Description

• Explains procedure to patients and encourages questions performing the Mammography/DXA/Interventional procedure examinations. Uses positive verbal and non-verbal communication to ensure patient satisfaction.
• Prepares Digital and DXA equipment for daily/weekly QC tests at appropriate intervals. Assists Radiologist in interventional breast procedures. Obtain high quality images and minimizes radiation through quality positioning and techniques as indicated in the MQSA and ACR guidelines.
• Accurately documents and maintain proper QC books for all rooms. Maintain a repeat rate below the National average of 4% or less per room.
• Assists Clinical Engineering, PACS administrators when necessary.
• Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by manager/supervisor.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Credentials, Licenses

• Graduate of an AMA school of Radiologic Technology. Registered Radiologic Technologist required (ARRT). Licensed in the state where work is being performed.
• Maintain CEU’s as required by the State & National levels.
• Mammogram Certification required within 1 year after orientation/training is complete.

Breast health—normal and abnormal aspects.
