Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform direct patient care in respiratory therapy according to physician orders in a hospital setting. The role includes consulting with physicians on therapy effectiveness and acting as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing staff on respiratory care.

You will perform duties as assigned to support patient care and outcomes. The position requires graduation from a CoArc approved Respiratory Care program, a current RCP license, and NBRC RRT

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license per state requirements.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
• PALS certification for ER personnel.

Overview

Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care, according to physician's orders. Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy. Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care. Performs duties as assigned.

Position Details

Qualifications Education: Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program. Licensure: Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license. Experience: None. Certifications: Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required. Other: Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Equipment Used: All appropriate respiratory care devices. Preferred Education: Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred Licensure: Preferred Experience: Prefer critical care experience. Preferred Certifications: Preferred Other:
