RESPONSIBILITIES: The Refuse Worker drives the assigned route removing garbage and recyclables from various campus locations. The employee is responsible for disposing of or recycling the garbage when they deliver it to the disposal site. The person in this position must be aware of environmentally safe ways to dispose of garbage as well as the correct way of recycling. On the job training will be provided.
REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must possess a high school diploma or a GED and must have a valid Indiana Driver’s License with a good driving record. Must be able to tolerate working outdoors in all types of weather conditions, must be physically fit and able to lift 50+ pounds, will be well disciplined, and a self-starter. Must be willing to fork a flexible schedule, at times this position is required to work weekends and holidays.
