Job summary

Coastal Sanitation of NC LLC is seeking a dependable Refuse Collector to join our Hubert, NC team. This outdoor role involves assisting with residential and commercial routes, operating collection vehicles, and safely handling waste bins.

Qualifications

• Physical ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
• Must pass background check and pre-employment screening.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

• Collect and dispose of residential and/or commercial refuse along routes.
• Operate and ride on refuse collection vehicles safely.
• Lift, empty, and return waste bins to proper locations.
• Communicate with drivers and team to ensure route completion.
• Report vehicle issues or route concerns to supervisors.

Responsibilities:

• Collect and dispose of residential and/or commercial refuse along assigned routes
• Operate and ride on refuse collection vehicles safely and efficiently
• Lift, empty, and return waste bins and containers to their proper locations
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures during collection operations
• Maintain cleanliness and order around collection areas to minimize spillage
• Communicate with drivers and team members to ensure route completion
• Report any vehicle issues, hazardous materials, or route concerns to supervisors

Requirements:

• Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work early morning hours and varying schedules
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Strong work ethic and a team-oriented attitude
• Prior waste collection or labor experience is a plus but not required
• Valid driver's license preferred
• Must be able to pass a background check and/or pre-employment screening
• Must be 18 years old or older
