Job summary

A Penske Refrigeration Technician will diagnose, overhaul, and repair refrigeration units on commercial trucks and trailers at our Lexington, SC location. The role emphasizes maintenance on Carrier and Thermo King refrigeration systems with emphasis on safety and thorough diagnostic work.

Qualified candidates have at least 6 years of tractor-trailer maintenance experience, a high school diploma (vocational/technical preferred), and certifications such as ASE and 608/609 are recommended.

Qualifications

• 6 years practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance required.
• Specialized training and experience in overhaul of refrigeration components required.
• Current CDL license with air brake certification preferred.
• Proficiency with tools of the trade required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, overhaul, adjust, and repair refrigeration unit maintenance equipment on trucks and trailers.
• Test lines, components, and connections with electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic test equipment.
• Read complex schematics for refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
• Ensure work complies with DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety policies.
