Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking a Refrigeration Technician-Lead at the North Carolina St. Pauls Plant to maintain, operate and repair ammonia refrigeration equipment. You will lead the compressor room, follow diagrams, and perform preventative maintenance to ensure reliable operation.

Requirements include a High School Diploma, NOCTI HVAC/Refrigeration levels 1–4, and 3+ years’ ammonia refrigeration experience, with availability for nights, weekends and extended shifts.

Qualifications

  • NOCTI HVAC/Refrigeration tests Level 1–4 certifications.
  • Minimum 3 years’ ammonia refrigeration experience.
  • Strong math and computer skills for readings and diagnostics.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and extended shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage the daily operations of the ammonia refrigeration compressor room.
  • Record system readings and diagnose variances; follow blueprints.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment.
  • Identify root causes and correct or notify supervision as needed.
  • Train entry level personnel and ensure compliance with safety policies.

Performs preventative and predictive maintenance; periodically tests and inspects to verify equipment is operating within manufacturer’s specifications and tolerances; troubleshoots equipment problems and repairs as needed.
