Qualifications

• Three years of refrigeration service and building trades experience.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification required.

• Willingness to wear PPE and follow safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Overtime on weekends/holidays and on-call as needed.
• Perform daily mechanical checks in Mechanical Room, Roof, HVAC, EMS, and refrigerated areas.
• Maintain refrigeration, HVAC, EMS, electrical, and mechanical systems and perform repairs.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, leak checks, and documentation (CARB/EPA forms).
• Coordinate with Area Refrigeration Manager regarding contractor work.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues; document outcomes.
• Fine-tune EMS/BMS controls; adjust set points and schedules.
• Order materials and issue purchase orders; enter data for reports.
• Maintain a neat, safe work area in relevant locations.

Job Overview

Monitoring building equipment for safety purposes and repair. Troubleshooting refrigeration, HVAC, mechanical and electrical problems, performing repairs, documenting solutions and making recommendations for further action.

Job Responsibilities And Accountabilities

• Must be willing to work overtime on weekends, holidays, and after-hours when on call
• Make daily mechanical check on equipment in the Mechanical Room, Roof, HVAC, EMS systems, refrigerated cases and walk ins, etc.
• Maintain all refrigeration, HVAC, EMS systems, electrical, and mechanical systems and make necessary repairs.
• Performs preventative maintenance tasks, leak checks, inspections and records required information and maintains CARB and EPA forms and required documentation in both paper form at store and electronic in Corrigo and Trakref.
• Monitors preventive maintenance work done by outside contractors and notifies Area Refrigeration Manager of issues or problems with outside contractors.
• Responsible for troubleshooting refrigeration, HVAC, mechanical and electrical problems, performing repairs, documenting solutions and recommending further action.
• Maintains a high technical level in troubleshooting and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Manage communications for service calls in a timely manner as required.
• Maintain current license, inspection, permit, and certificate requirements to meet all state and local codes.
• Operates EMS building controls and automation systems. Fine tune operating parameters. Adjust set points and schedules. Fully understand and modify building control sequences and operates the EMS / BMS systems.
• Perform a variety of administrative tasks such as: ordering material and writing purchase orders, and data entry for work reports and refrigerant leak reports via iPad device.
• Perform all duties in a timely, efficient, & professional manner.
• Maintain a neat, clean and safe work area in mechanical room, roof, service vehicle, etc.
• Must be willing to work overtime on weekends, holidays, and after-hours when on call

Job Requirements

(Relevant Experience, Education, Certification, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

• High School diploma or equivalent. Graduate of building related vocational - technical programs are preferred.
• Minimum of three years recent experience performing refrigeration service, maintenance work in building related trades.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to perform duties with a high degree of accuracy and care to avoid mechanical breakdowns.
• Able to respond to direct and radio requests as soon as possible.
• Able to maintain proper neat uniform appearance of Company provided work shirt and employee provided clean blue jeans without holes or tears.
• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment as required including arc flash and safety glasses.
• Must be computer literate.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must possess an EPA Section 608 Universal Certification
• Ability to read and comprehend manuals, prints, and work orders.
• Knowledge of tools and equipment maintenance.
• General record keeping skills.
• Customer service orientation and sensitivity to diverse needs of coworkers, employees, and other persons contacted in the daily course of work.
• Ability to work independently.

Physical Environment

• Most work is performed in both indoor and outdoor work environments.
• Ability to perform manual labor.
• Incumbent may use various trade tools, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday.
• Stooping, bending, twisting, lifting, and reaching is required in completion of job duties
