Job summary

ESI– A Tech24 Company in Bloomington, IL is seeking a Refrigeration Technician to diagnose, repair, maintain, and install commercial refrigeration and food service equipment at customer locations. You will help ensure operations run efficiently and safely on site.

The role offers weekly pay, a company vehicle, gas card, uniforms, phone, and a robust benefits package. A sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 is available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial refrigeration repair experience.
• EPA Universal certification preferred or in progress.
• Valid driver's license with clean record required.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair commercial refrigeration equipment at customer locations.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and service.

Position Summary

As part of the ESI team and broader Tech24 network, the Refrigeration Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing commercial refrigeration and food service equipment at customer locations. This position supports commercial kitchen operations by ensuring refrigeration systems and related equipment are operating efficiently and safely.

Key Responsiabilities:

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial refrigeration equipment including walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-ins, ice machines, prep tables, and related systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and routine service.
• Install and replace refrigeration components and equipment as required.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Test refrigeration systems, identify issues, and complete necessary repairs.
• Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with EPA regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding service findings and recommendations.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and inventory.
• Participate in after-hours or on-call service rotation as required.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of commercial refrigeration repair experience
• EPA Universal certification preferred
• Valid drivers license with a clean driving record required
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs. and work in varying indoor / outdoor conditions
• Ability to climb ladders, work from heights, and crawl in tight quarters
• Own industry standard hand tools
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation as needed

Compensation Transparency>

The advertised pay range for this position is $30-$45 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience level, technical certifications, skill set, and overall qualifications. Candidates with advanced expertise in both commercial hot-side and cold-side equipment may be considered toward the higher end of the range.
