CoolSys - Refrigeration and HVAC Systems in Newport News, Virginia, is seeking experienced technicians to assist in the repair and maintenance of refrigeration and HVAC systems. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience in commercial refrigeration and is EPA certified.

Qualifications

Responsabilités

Responsibilities

• Assist in repair and overhaul of refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment, including compressors, water pumps, air handlers, and control devices.
• Perform general repair work on air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machine equipment, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors, and electric motors.
• Conduct preventative maintenance activities, diagnose equipment malfunctions, and ensure quality performance.
• Test malfunctioning systems and components using electrical and/or mechanical skills.
• Maintain legible corporate and personal records of work history.
• Process job tickets and work orders, and support department operations promptly.
• Pick up, deliver, and install cases.
• Work on minor construction and remodeling projects, including startups for new installations.
• Drive company vehicle safely.
• Perform other related duties and projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• EPA certification.
• Certification from an accredited vocational‑technical or trade school is a plus.
• Minimum 5+ years of commercial refrigeration experience.
• Experience in convenience stores or supermarkets is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with single and rack systems, display cases, and walk‑in boxes.
• Good driving record and ability to work independently.
• Emergency on‑call availability.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs without assistance and stand or sit for several hours.
