Job summary

TGD Cuts LLC in Jessup, MD is seeking a skilled Refrigeration Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HVAC/R systems, air compressors, refrigeration equipment, and related wastewater and exhaust systems.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years in HVAC/R, the ability to obtain a universal recovery license, and the stamina to work in varied conditions; expect Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–1:30 PM, on‑call weekends, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must read and write English.
  • Minimum 3 years' HVAC/R experience with ability to obtain universal recovery license.
  • Ability to work in wet, loud, cold and humid conditions; comply with safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC/R, refrigeration, and related systems.
  • Operate, repair, test, and maintain wastewater and exhaust equipment.
  • Maintain logs and ensure safety compliance; support daily operations.

Description

Summary: The Refrigeration Mechanic will perform preventive maintenance, routine inspections, and repairs of air conditioning, air compressors, heating, refrigeration, wastewater plant systems, air systems and exhaust systems.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Promote a safe working environment and follow company guidelines for safety at all times
  • Maintain shift and equipment logs in a clear and concise manner
  • Operate, repair, test, and maintain all Waste Water systems, exhaust systems, HVAC, and refrigeration equipment using necessary hand tools and testing equipment
  • Align motors, pumps, shafts, couplings
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance
  • Performs duties that may be outside of the HVAC trade to support the daily operation
  • Electrical repairs and inspection on pumps, compressors, fans, and controls
  • Connect piping using threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, or cemented joints
  • Secures pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers
  • Operate, maintain, and use in a safe manner equipment, tools, and vehicles
  • Periodically make repairs such as replace floats, clean/replace sump pump strainers, replace pumps, etc.
  • Maintains clean work area

SCHEDULE:

Monday-Friday 5AM -1:30PM

Weekend work required/Must have availability for call-ins as well as on-call

Requirements
Education Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be able to read and write English. Must be able to display basic arithmetic skills.

Training, Skills, Licenses:

Minimum 3 years' experience in HVAC/R with the ability to attain the universal recovery license.

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee is frequently exposed to wet, loud, cold and/or humid conditions. Ability to work in extreme conditions for long periods of time. Working in refrigerated spaces that are routinely 35 degrees. The employee frequently is required to walk, use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. Ability to work at heights on ladders, scissor lifts and articulating lifts. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, rotate or twist, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
