Job summary

City Building Engineering Services (CBES) seeks a Field Engineer / Commissioning Agent to lead start-up and commissioning of refrigeration, HVAC, and EMS infrastructure for supermarket projects. You will verify system performance and assist in final client acceptance at site locations.

The role collaborates with engineering, construction, and client teams to ensure installations meet design documents and project requirements, with a focus on on-site execution and documentation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in supermarket construction, commissioning, or HVACR/controls maintenance.
• Experience with large refrigeration rack systems (DX, Cascade, Micro DS, Transcritical CO2).
• Experience operating Danfoss and/or Emerson control systems.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits during construction and remodels to verify progress and scope adherence.
• Execute on-site commissioning activities and perform point-to-point testing and functional verification of EMS equipment.
• Commission HVACR equipment and support start-up for refrigeration rack systems with contractors.
• Evaluate existing RHVAC and EMS systems for integration into capital projects; prepare interim/ final commissioning reports.
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and coordination with project teams and vendors.
