Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation in Canton, Ohio is seeking a Lab Tester to perform multiple analytical tests and support quality control across refinery products. The role requires a Chemistry degree and a valid driver's license, with prior lab experience in petroleum applications preferred.

You will work in a unionized environment on an 8-hour rotating shift, with overtime as needed and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Requires BS in Chemistry or equivalent 4-year science degree with at least 16 hours of Chemistry.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong mechanical aptitude, organization, verbal and written communication.
• Prior lab experience in petroleum applications preferred.
• Experience with gas chromatography and wet chemistry preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and LIMS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform multiple analytical tests at the same time with strict adherence to procedures.
• Provide quality control analyses on all intermediate streams and finished products with high accuracy and support process.
• Perform routine calibration and maintenance of equipment.
• Initiate certificates of analysis according to product specifications.
