Job summary

COR Disposal & Recycling in Portland, OR is seeking a Recycling Technician to sort recyclable materials from waste streams on a conveyor line, remove contaminants, and ensure compliance with facility guidelines. You will contribute to environmental sustainability by improving material recovery and reducing contamination.

You will operate conveyors and basic equipment, follow safety protocols, wear PPE, and work as part of a team with other sorters and supervisors to keep production moving

Qualifications

• Experience in recycling, manufacturing, or waste management preferred.
• Forklift operation certification or ability to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Sort recyclable materials from waste streams on a conveyor line.
• Remove contaminants to ensure quality control.
• Identify and remove hazardous materials to maintain safety.
• Assist with processing recycled materials for shipping or further processing.
• Operate basic machinery like conveyors, balers, forklifts as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and use PPE (gloves, safety glasses, steel-toe boots).
• Work with others to resolve conveyor jams or material backlogs.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of work areas and equipment.
