Job summary

Coastal Waste & Recycling is seeking a dedicated Recycling Specialist in Vero Beach, FL to identify, separate, and recover recyclable materials while keeping operations safe and efficient. You’ll help protect the environment and contribute to waste reduction in our growing regional network.

You’ll work with a team to sort materials, remove contaminants, and operate around conveyors, following safety procedures. No prior experience required, but attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous recycling, warehouse, manufacturing, or labor experience is helpful but not required.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Sort recyclable materials such as cardboard, paper, plastics, metals, and glass from the recycling stream.
• Inspect materials and remove contaminants to ensure high-quality recycled products.
• Safely operate around conveyor systems and recycling equipment while following all company safety procedures.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
• Monitor equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns to your supervisor.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and promote a culture of safety.
• Follow all company policies, environmental regulations, and operational procedures.
• At Coastal, we win as a team. After your assigned work is complete, you may help teammates or support other operational needs as directed by your supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
