Job summary

Recycle Ann Arbor is seeking a MRF Sorter I in Ann Arbor, MI. This full-time union position involves standing for long shifts, sorting recyclables, and maintaining safety and quality standards on conveyor lines and in multiple facility areas.

You will inspect materials, remove contaminants, and assist with loading/unloading, while following all safety procedures and wearing PPE. Training is provided, with comprehensive benefits and a 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• Basic manual dexterity and ability to handle positive-yield tasks.
• Punctual, dependable and able to work in a team.
• Willingness to follow safety rules and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect and sort recyclable and non-recyclable materials.
• Remove contaminants to meet quality standards for mills and brokers.
• Separate materials by type, size, condition, color, or grade.
• Work on the tip floor, sort lines, and other assigned areas.
• Keep station clean, organized, and safe; perform basic cleaning of equipment.
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks; report equipment issues.
