Radius Recycling Industries, Inc. seeks a Recycling Operations District Manager to drive safety, efficiency and profitability across multiple facilities.
You will oversee production, maintenance, inventory control, and environmental compliance while coordinating with regional leadership and the Commercial group. The role requires 5–10 years in steel scrap yard operations, a college degree (preferred), and strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
The Recycling Operations District Manager (RODM) reports directly to the Recycling Operations Regional General Manager (RORGM) or the Recycling Operations General Manager (ROGM) and has a primary focus on driving, guiding, and influencing the support mechanisms that streamline and coordinate the overall operational effectiveness and efficiency of the assigned operations.
The RODM focuses specifically on overall Health & Safety and Environmental compliance; quality control; maintenance and accuracy of all material inventories; coordination of inter-yard transportation of materials; ensuring the facility’s volume quotas are being met by communicating with the Commercial Group; and Continuous Improvement for the facilities, administration, and management of Production and Maintenance employees.
This position operates within flexible parameters. The primary goal is to achieve excellence in all facets of facility and operations management, providing the highest quality product safely, effectively, and efficiently to decrease accidents and errors and increase profits.

The Recycling Operations District Manager directly supervises Recycling Operations Facility Managers, FE/NF Managers and/or Supervisors, and union/non‑union hourly staff.
Workload is cyclical and can present significant time pressures when strict adherence to deadlines is critical. Workload is often reactive and cannot be anticipated or planned for. Many extra hours, including weekend, weekday, and holidays, may be required. Physical operations at metal recycling yards require walking or climbing in active industrial yards with uneven surfaces and out‑of‑the‑way areas. Occasional exposure to inclement weather and travel may be required. Regular overtime is required. Off‑site work involves meeting in person with current or potential customers and visiting other Schnitzer locations.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, up to 6 hours per day. Position requires the individual to stand, walk, and/or otherwise move around a steel scrap yard environment. Some computer work is necessary, requiring visual acuity for close detail work. Must communicate professionally by phone, e‑mail, and in person with all levels of internal personnel and business contacts.
