Job summary

Federal Recycling is seeking a reliable CDL Class A Truck Driver to join our Jefferson City, MO team. This local role services customers within roughly a 120-mile radius, with home daily.

You will safely operate our Class A tractor and van trailer, perform drop‑and‑hook swaps, and ensure accurate DOT paperwork while delivering professional customer service. Ideal candidates have a valid CDL, a current DOT Medical Card, a clean MVR, and a commitment to safety and on‑time deliveries.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (Medical Card) or the ability to obtain one.
• Acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR).
• Ability to pass required DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Strong time management and independent decision-making skills.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Make scheduled pick-ups and deliveries at commercial and industrial customer locations.
• Safely operate a Federal Recycling Class A tractor with van trailer.
• Perform multiple drop-and-hook trailer swaps daily.
• Secure loads and assist with loading and unloading materials as needed.
• Complete all required shipping, delivery, and DOT paperwork accurately.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations.
• Maintain compliance with all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service while representing Federal Recycling at customer locations.
• Make occasional unscheduled or urgent pick-ups and deliveries as business needs require.
• Report vehicle maintenance concerns promptly and ensure equipment remains in safe operating condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support transportation and operations.

Education / Experience

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous Class A commercial driving experience preferred.
• Experience with drop-and-hook operations is a plus.
• Experience in recycling, waste, manufacturing, or industrial transportation is preferred.

Physical Demands

This role frequently requires sitting, talking, hearing, and using hands to handle materials or controls. Regular activities include walking, standing, and occasional stooping or reaching. The position involves lifting items up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity must support driving, including depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Schedule

• Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM.
• This is a local driving position with routes generally within a 120-mile radius, allowing drivers to return home daily.
• Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required based on customer needs and business demands.
