Job summary

Highway Transport, a tanker trucking company, is seeking a Recruiting Manager to lead day-to-day talent acquisition, focusing on driver recruitment and a recruiting team. You will oversee full-cycle recruiting, partner with operations leaders, and drive employer branding and data-driven performance.

In-office role based in Knoxville, TN, offering a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities to shape staffing strategies. Minimum 3–5+ years in TA with leadership experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-5+ years of experience in talent acquisition or recruitment, with prior experience leading or managing others preferred.
  • Demonstrated success executing recruiting plans and meeting hiring goals.
  • Experience partnering with hiring managers and operations leaders.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with ATS systems, sourcing tools, and recruitment reporting.

  • Help implement the recruitment strategy set by HR leadership, tailoring execution to business priorities and seasonal hiring cycles.
  • Partner with local and regional business leaders to identify staffing needs and build proactive recruiting plans.
  • Support workforce planning efforts by supplying accurate hiring data and forecasts to leadership.
  • Assist operations with maintaining a sustainable hiring forecast for assigned areas.
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting operations for drivers and non-drivers, ensuring a consistent, high-quality candidate and hiring-manager experience.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to recruitment processes, workflows, and service delivery for greater efficiency.
  • Ensure recruiting practices comply with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Support recruitment for priority, high-impact, and hard-to-fill roles within assigned scope.
  • Build talent pipelines through local partnerships, networking, and strategic sourcing.
  • Advise hiring managers on interview practices and share talent market insights.
  • Promote and reinforce the Highway Transport brand — Our Promise. Delivered. and Our Promise. Kept. — in all candidate-facing activities.
  • Use digital recruitment tools, including CRM, ATS, AI-enabled sourcing, and social recruitment, to support hiring goals.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, job platforms, and technology providers as needed.

Job description

The Recruiting Manager leads the day-to-day execution of talent acquisition activities, with a primary focus on Driver recruitment, while managing a team of recruiters and coordinators. This role is responsible for full-cycle Driver and general recruiting operations, supporting employer branding efforts, maintaining talent pipelines, and using recruitment data to drive performance. The Recruiting Manager works closely with operations leaders and hiring managers to meet staffing needs and ensure a strong, consistent candidate experience, while reporting into HR leadership on recruitment strategy and results.

Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition Execution & Planning
  • Own the recruitment process through year-one onboarding for assigned locations/teams.
  • Help implement the recruitment strategy set by HR leadership, tailoring execution to business priorities and seasonal hiring cycles.
