Jobot is seeking a Construction Trades Recruiter to source and place field professionals for a growing design-build and utility contractor in Richmond. You will work closely with field leadership, travel to sites and events, and build pipelines for operators, foremen, crew leaders, and laborers.

The role emphasizes hands-on recruiting, relationship building, and proactive sourcing to support current and future workforce needs across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of recruiting experience, preferably in construction or field-workforce environments.
• Strong full-cycle recruiting knowledge and candidate management.
• Ability to source talent beyond inbound applications.

Our client is a growing design-build, site development, and underground utility contractor specializing in mission-critical infrastructure. With more than 500 completed projects over the past decade, the organization has built its reputation around safety, execution, teamwork, and delivering complex construction projects at a high level.

As the business continues to grow, our client is investing heavily in its internal recruiting capability. They are looking for an experienced Construction Trades Recruiter who understands how to find, engage, and hire the field professionals who keep construction projects moving.

This is not a desk-only recruiting position. You'll work closely with field and Operations leadership, spend time in the market, and develop the relationships and pipelines necessary to support both immediate and future workforce needs.

Job Details

• 2+ years of recruiting experience, ideally within construction, utilities, heavy civil, site development, skilled trades, manufacturing, transportation, or another field-workforce environment.
• Demonstrated experience recruiting employees in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, candidate management, offers, and pre-employment coordination.
• Ability to proactively source talent rather than relying solely on inbound applicants.
• Experience developing candidate pipelines through channels such as referrals, networking, hiring events, trade schools, workforce-development organizations, and community outreach.
• Ability to build strong working relationships with Project Managers, Superintendents, Operations leaders, HR, and candidates.
• Experience managing multiple openings and recruiting priorities simultaneously.
• Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems, HRIS platforms, recruiting technology, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout assigned territories, jobsites, company offices, and recruiting events.
• Valid driver's license.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Construction Management, or related discipline preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.

Highly Preferred

• Recruiting experience within underground utilities, heavy civil construction, site development, or similar construction environments.
• Experience recruiting Operators, Foremen, Crew Leaders, Laborers, Pipe Layers, Utility Workers, and other craft professionals.
• Established network within construction or skilled trades.
• Experience organizing hiring events and field/community recruiting initiatives.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.
• Recruiting or Talent Acquisition certification.
