Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Recreation Therapist Assistant to assist the Recreation Therapist in developing and leading engaging activities for participants, both in groups and individually, ensuring a positive, safe experience.

You will help plan monthly calendars, document attendance, collaborate with care staff, and maintain supplies while adhering to policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required.
• Minimum of 2 years related work experience preferred.
• Experience in planning and leading therapeutic activities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Works in conjunction with the Recreation Therapist in planning, organizing, directing, and leading therapeutic activities for participants in large and small groups.
• Adapts activities to ensure individual participants are successful in programs.
• Assists in the development of monthly activities calendar and daily activities schedule, ensuring schedule is posted.
• Documents daily attendance and notes progress and decline in program involvement by participants.
• Assists with the purchase, organization, and storage of recreational supplies.
• Maintains inventory and distribution of participant name tags with information regarding level of assistance and support potential for wander, and dietary restrictions needed by participant.
• Collaborates with Personal Care Assistants assigned to activities and assists with personal care needs as needed to promote safety and comfort.

Job Duties
