Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a dedicated Recreational Therapist to support students in Grants, NM, with opportunities for onsite or teletherapy services. You will contribute to students’ educational, social, and emotional development while aligning with district standards.

Ideal candidates are graduates of accredited programs, certified as recreational therapists, and possess NM PED certification. Collaboration with educators and families is essential for student success.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Recreational Therapy program.
• Current certification as a Recreational Therapist.
• NM PED certification required.
• Experience with children/adolescents in school settings preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic recreational services supporting educational, social, and emotional development.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on student needs.
• Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success.
• Document services and maintain records per district and professional standards.
• Promote student engagement, independence, and participation through therapeutic recreation.
