Job summary

Pavilion Behavioral Health System in Champaign, IL is seeking a talented Recreational Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team. This full-time role requires planning and implementing activity services, contributing to treatment goals, and providing ongoing patient care.

You will develop goal-oriented recreation plans, lead group and individual activities, and train staff during orientation while supporting after-care visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field.
• CTRS licensure preferred.
• 2 years of experience with clients with psychological needs.

Responsibilities

• Develops goal-oriented recreation leisure treatment plans to meet clients' needs.
• Provides education and instruction in leisure skill development in group, family, and individual settings.
• Plans, organizes and leads a variety of recreation activities.
• Implements assessments to obtain information regarding patient treatment plans and goals.
• Provide clinical input in resident staffing regarding treatment progress and recommendations of care.
• Assist the director of residential services with admission of new residents to the program.
• Acts as the primary facility group trainer for new and existing employees during orientation and assesses competence in group facilitation.
• Assist with after-care contacts and in-person visits as directed by the RTC Director.
• Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.
