Valle Vista Health System in Greenwood, IN is seeking a Recreation Skills Specialist to plan and implement activity services for patients within a behavioral health setting. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing psychoeducational and activity groups and modeling positive interaction with patients.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a social/therapeutic field and CTRS certification, plus at least one year of related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a social/therapeutic discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Must have CTRS certification (Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist).
• One year of related experience with psychiatric/substance use disorder patient care and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with group facilitation or education is preferred.

Position Summary:

The Recreation Skills Specialist is responsible for planning and implementing activity services for assigned program, which involves defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients. The Skills Specialist provides psychoeducational and activity groups to assigned patients.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Education/Licensure:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, education, criminal justice or other social service or therapeutic discipline.

Certification:

Must have CTRS certification (Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist).

Experience:

One (1) year related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric and/or substance use disorder patient care techniques. Proficiency utilizing office systems such as Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Requirements:

Experience with group facilitation or education.
