Job summary

Elmhurst Park District is seeking a part-time Recreational Gymnastics Instructor to teach boys gymnastics in our recreational classes and help participants progress in a safe environment.

Hours vary: Monday–Friday 3:45–7:45pm and Saturdays–Sundays 7:30am–1pm. Starting pay is $16.00 per hour, with a pay range of $16.00–$35.50 depending on experience. PART-TIME CATEGORY 2 benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school education with 1 year of experience.
• Experience in or with Boys Gymnastics preferred.
• Ability to supervise and ensure safety during classes.

Responsibilities

• Instruct boys gymnastics recreational classes.
• Monitor class activities and track progress.
• Maintain safety through proper spotting techniques.
• Shadow staff prior to teaching independently.

We have an exciting part-time job opportunity as RECREATIONAL GYMNASTICS INSTRUCTOR working with our boys gymnastics classes! We are looking for someone with experience either participating in or coaching Boys Gymnastics.

WHAT YOU’LL DO: The gymnastics participants will look to you to instruct their recreational classes with appropriate skills and techniques for their level. You'll monitor class activities while maintaining skills progress reports and ensuring their safety by practicing proper spotting techniques. We care about your professional development! Upon hire, our Gymnastics Coordinator or Head Coach will train you on various training techniques for each level, communication styles with participants of different ages, and how to properly spot participants. You will also shadow staff prior to teaching on your own!
